The recent passing of Lynne Dubin has had a huge impact on the deaf, deafened and hard-of-hearing community, as well as her colleagues from the lipspeaking profession. Many felt that it was important to preserve Lynne’s legacy by continuing the decades-long work she had done in providing communication support for lipreaders.
The good news is her popular Walks and Talks, which enable lipreaders to enjoy Blue badge-guided walks around historical areas of London and surrounding areas, will continue. And in honour of Lynne, they are being renamed The Lynne Dubin Walks and Talks.
The next one is booked in for May 21st and will cover Old Westminster. Two more are planned this year, September 10th and November 19th, with subjects yet to be confirmed.
To book a Walk and Talk, or to be added to the mailing list for future walks, email Kim Dewdney at firstname.lastname@example.org. The cost is £12 per walk and you can pay via bank transfer to Kim, or cheque.
