“The Future of Registration” - Consultation Document.

CACDP would like you to tell them what you think about CACDP’s registration processes for Language Service Professionals, and to comment on some suggestions for improvements.

The current partners in administering LSP registration - CACDP, the Independent Registration Panel, and the ACE/Deafblind Registration Panel - understand that improvements to the registration processes must provide confidence to consumers, be supported by the professionals who register, and be credible and sustainable.

CACDP have asked an independent consultancy called TARO to review the registration process for them. Thanks go to all those who have already assisted the consultants by giving their views on the current registration system, and suggesting ways in which it might be improved.

TARO has used this preliminary research to draw up a consultation document to gather the views of a wide range of stakeholders. “The Future of Registration” document sets out draft proposals for a future structure for registration. It is available online in BSL and English at www.cacdp.org.uk/reg_consult/ or by emailing lspregistration@cacdp.org.uk

Your views are important to us: we’d like you to look at the consultation document and tell us what you think. Please reply as soon as possible, but by no later than midday on Friday 18 April 2008. You can reply either by email to lspregistration@cacdp.org.uk or mark your response “Private and Confidential” and post to Registration Consultation, CACDP, Durham University Science Park, Block 4, Stockton Road, Durham, DH1 3UZ.

Please tell other people about the consultation: we want to make sure that we receive views from a wide range of interested people and organisations.
